I (Brian “B”) wanted to create a candle company for many reasons. I love candles and what they do for the atmosphere in the room but I really wanted to do something with my wife. Something that would make an impact on people’s lives and create a business that the only plan was to take one step at a time and see how it developed. Ironically my wife (Truly “Tru”) has a really cool name and it totally jives with the message of the brand. Although B Tru could mean so many things…it definitely connects to the relationship I have and desire to have with my wife. When I first met my wife, one of the biggest draws to her was her soft, gentle and authentic spirit. Authenticity is definitely part of what it means to B Tru but it is just one, a common denominator is that it all revolves around relationships. In a world that is pulling our attention to technology, entertainment, self gratification, we need to be encouraged more than ever to build community and enhance community with something primitive yet sophisticated, like a candle. This is what our product is meant to do. Most people have some sort of fond memory around campfires and usually that memory revolves around a connection to another human being. This is why all of our scents have a hint of “campfire” scent and our wicks are T shaped wood wicks. The T of course connects to “Tru” but if you look at the wick burning at an angle it resembles the T P shape you put the wood in when starting a campfire. So, this is the gist behind the name and we hope you like it...a lot! We are definitely enjoying creating it as well as enjoying our candles ever day in our urban home where we can't have a campfire outside. Thanks for listening and caring about what we do! We appreciate you! B Tru!
